PHOTOS: Houston honors Andre Ware with marker at 11-yard line

Being a Heisman Trophy winner has no shortage of perks. One of them: your old school will celebrate your legendary status in its $120 million new stadium by placing your old jersey number on the field itself.

That's what Houston did for Andre Ware at its sparking new TDECU Stadium Sunday, establishing a marker at the 11-yard-line in honor of Ware's No. 11. Via the Cougars' official Twitter feed:

And via the Cougars' Facebook photo gallery:

"I just happened to be the guy who got the keys to one of the greatest cars in the history of college football," Ware said, per the Houston Chronicle -- a car that produced 4,699 passing yards and the first-ever Heisman Trophy for an African-American quarterback.

Oh, and one weird yard-marker in TDECU Stadium and nowhere else.
