Recap

Arkansas 56, Troy 20

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -Ryan Mallett broke Arkansas' single-season passing record, and the Razorbacks beat Troy 56-20 Saturday night.

Mallett threw for 405 yards, bringing his season total to 2,882. He surpassed Clint Stoerner's mark of 2,629 in the second quarter.

Arkansas (6-4) has won three straight games for the first time under coach Bobby Petrino, who took over before last season. Mallett threw five touchdown passes, all to different receivers.

Troy (7-3) had its seven-game winning streak snapped.

The crowd spent several minutes booing at the beginning of the third quarter after back-to-back replay decisions went against the Hogs, but the Razorbacks held Troy to a field goal. Mallett then smoothly led Arkansas down the field, and his 28-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Williams made it 35-13.

After the teams traded touchdowns, Mallett tossed a screen pass to Ronnie Wingo Jr., who went untouched for an 83-yard touchdown and a 49-20 fourth-quarter lead.

Levi Brown threw for 321 yards and a touchdown for the Trojans.

Arkansas opened the scoring when Mallett threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to a well-covered Joe Adams. Broderick Green's 1-yard scoring run made it 14-0 early in the second quarter.

Brown threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jason Bruce for the Trojans, but Arkansas answered with Wingo's 16-yard scoring run.

Mallett set the passing record with a 25-yard pass to Adams, and his 13-yard touchdown pass to Greg Childs on that same drive gave Arkansas a 28-7 lead.

Brown was intercepted three times in the first half, snapping his streak of 265 passes without an interception. He fell six short of the major college record within a single season.

Mallett threw an interception near the end of the second quarter, ending a 141-pass streak of his own.

Mallett wasn't the only record setter for the Razorbacks. Dennis Johnson became the school's career leader in kickoff return yardage.

Arkansas' Alex Tejada tied a school mark with his 125th career extra point.

Arkansas played without defensive coordinator Willy Robinson, who was hospitalized Friday and was being treated for an unspecified infection. The school said he was resting comfortably Saturday.
