HUNTINGTON, W.Va.(AP) -Darius Marshall rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown and Darius Passmore caught two touchdown passes to lead Marshall to a 35-10 victory over Illinois State on Saturday.

Passmore's touchdowns covered 88 and 13 yards, and Marshall's 10-yard score gave the Thundering Herd (1-0) a 28-10 lead with 3:23 remaining in the third quarter.

Passmore finished with four catches for 111 yards.

The Thundering Herd rushed for 229 yards as a team, averaging 7.2 yards a carry. Terrell Edwards scored Marshall's final touchdown on a 49-yard run with 33 seconds remaining in the game.

Illinois State quarterback Kevin Brockway was 20-for-38 for 196 yards and an interception. Eyad Salem had a 4-yard touchdown reception for the Redbirds (0-1).
