Florida State gets commitment from tight end Christian Morgan
On a day when the entire sport of college football received great news, Florida State received some even more relevant news that will no doubt make Seminoles fans happy: Plano (Texas) tight end Christian Morgan committed to the program on Tuesday.
"The staff from FSU actually knew about the decision after my visit last weekend. I told Coach Coley I was going to be a Seminole," Morgan told Warchant.com. "He was very excited even though he was on vacation in Miami."
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound pass catcher ultimately picked Florida State over Baylor, Arkansas and a host of other offers after visiting Tallahassee for his final unofficial visit.
"I just realized that FSU was the place for me. The opportunity there -- it just gave me everything I need all in one place," he said. "The people at Florida State were special, and I just really loved the city of Tallahassee. It's a great college town. It just has a little bit of everything."
Morgan is the 13th commitment for the Seminoles' class of 2013 and continues the coaching staff's success in luring players from the state of Texas into the program after signing two in 2012. The rising senior caught 16 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown last season.
