Oregon scores big commit in lineman Evan Voeller

By Bryan Fischer | Blogger
Although Oregon lost out on one commitment Monday night, they scored a big one in West Linn (Ore.) offensive lineman Evan Voeller, who made his pledge official after being a long time lean.

“After I took some visits, I just noticed that with everything that's going on at Oregon, it's really special," Voeller told Scout. "They're changing the game and I really want to be a part of that.”

The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder also had offers from Arizona State, Stanford, UCLA and others. Voeller's brother is a walk-on tight end on the team and he just seemed to bond with offensive line coach Steve Greatwood, which helped him pull the trigger.

“He said he was really jacked,” said Voeller. “Coach Greatwood said he was going to give me coach (Chip) Kelly's number and I'm going to call him (too).”

Voeller becomes the second Ducks commitment for the class of 2013.
