San Diego (Calif.) wide receiver Darren Carrington has had a busy few months at camps and combines around the country but made a big impression on an unofficial visit to Oregon to land an offer that he promptly committed to.
"I always wanted an Oregon offer and they have been by to evaluate me two times," Carrington told 247Sports. I felt like they would offer but I wasn't sure. To get it today was a big relief. I wasn't sure I would commit, but I just knew after being here."
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder also held offers from Arizona and Boise State among others and had Michigan offer at the beginning of June. At the end of the day however, it was
"I just couldn't see it getting any better," he said. "The academics, the facilities were unreal, the coaches were amazing. Oregon offered everything and I almost left, but I decided not to wait. I'm a Duck and I'm happy to be a Duck."
Oregon now has five commitments for the class of 2013, two of whom have come in the past two days.
