LSU has cast the net a little wider across the country with the 2013 class and it's paid off as the Tigers have landed a top 10 recruiting class so far. The rich got richer on Wednesday night after Les Miles and his staff picked up a commitment from Wilson (N.C.) defensive end Lewis Neal.
"To make a long story short, I'll be taking my talents to LSU," Neal said at a ceremony streamed over the internet. "Go Tigers."
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder held scholarship offers Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee among others. Neal previously committed to Ohio State earlier this year but decommitted after rushing into the decision.
"The conference didn't really matter," he told TigerBait.com. "I just felt like in the SEC, it feels like you can get better and reach your best potential. But conference didn't really play in my decision."
Neal becomes the 19th pledge for the program and could also play as a pass rushing linebacker at the next level. As a junior, he recorded 88 tackles and eight sacks last season.
