Will Muschamp is in year two at Florida but truly hasn't had a signature, impact recruit despite very good, top 10 recruiting classes. The man nicknamed "Boom" made one on Thursday night however, landing a commitment from Tampa (Fla.) cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III in a major coup that gives the Gators the top defensive back in the country.
"I can officially say I am committed to THE University of Florida ! #GoGators CHOMP CHOMP," Hargreaves III tweeted.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder named a top five just a week ago of Florida, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame and Miami. Hargreaves father is an assistant at South Florida and the five-star corner also considered the Bulls but found the right fit with the Gators.
Hargreaves commitment is No. 18 for Muschamp in the class of 2013 and kicks off what could be a busy weekend for the program as they host their annual summer camp, 'Friday Night Lights.' Ranked as top corner and No. 29 overall in the class, Hargreaves will also participate in the Gridiron Kings event on Saturday and Sunday. He went to The Opening earlier in July but couldn't participate after injuring his ankle.
