Keys to the Game: Steve Spurrier's team, losers of two straight, faces a daunting ending to the schedule -- Saturday's home game against No. 1 Florida and the season-ender against an emerging Clemson team. The Gamecocks haven't shown any recent signs of being able to compete with the Gators. The offense bogged down in the second half of last week's sloppy loss against Arkansas. The young secondary was shredded, and there were some clock management and special teams mistakes. Florida is still looking to close out SEC play with a flourish and extend its 19-game winning streak. Florida has made it through SEC play with some close calls, including a 23-20 win against Arkansas that was decided on a Caleb Sturgis field goal in the closing seconds. After South Carolina, Florida will close the regular season with home games against FIU and Florida State.
Notes: Gamecocks S Chris Culliver, who was benched for last week's loss at Arkansas for leaving practice after arguing with a coach, is expected to start against Florida on Saturday. That will move Akeem Auguste back to cornerback ... Saturday's Florida game will mark South Carolina's 10th consecutive week with a game. The Gamecocks will then have next week off, before hosting in-state rival Clemson ... The Gators average 28 points per game, down from 45 a year ago. Tim Tebow also has been sacked 20 times in SEC games, up from 12 a year ago ...
