Updated Oct. 5
The Mike Gundy polls are officially closed.
However, the AP poll is open for big-time debate.

Why hasn't someone written this article about Les Miles?: 26-4 and more than half of the TD's, Rushing yards, passing yards and tackles have come from Miles players not Saban's. You can book it, if he were 15-15 it would be his entire fault.
Where Have You Been, Flynn: I have, several times.

About the MOB (Marching Owl Band), when the old SWC was still around, they used to regularly do this sort of satire on nearly every other school in the conference during road games.
I say nearly, because they did one on A&M at College Station only once. After the police rescued them from their dressing room besieged by Aggies, they did no more A&M satires.
Alpha Wolff:
That's touching. Wonder if any of them have ever been on a date.
I've always admired the dashing, devil-may-care, suave attitude of your average band member. Well, that and a lack of deodorant.

Two things account for Coach Jag's (Jeff Jagodzinski at Boston College) success: 1) He believes in speed over size. Everyone has big guys -- best to sacrifice a little size for speed. 2) Go for big plays. Don't worry about interceptions -- keep throwing it. One touchdown is better than one interception. Deception is the secret.
Eagle Lover:
In other words, the anti-NFL. I love it.

I have to disagree about USF, or any of the other new Florida schools being mentioned in the same group as the Big Three. Has USF ever won a BCS conference?
I don't want to try, but maybe you can add up how many ACC, SEC, and Big East championships the Big Three have won. Has USF ever finished in the top 10? Again, UF, FSU, and Miami have been in that group for a few decades now. And most importantly, how many National Championships has USF won?
I believe the Big Three add up to 9. So until USF, or UCF, or FAU and FIU accomplish those feats please don't even mention them being in the same group. Granted, USF may be better than FSU or Miami this year, but let's see where we stand in about 10 years.
Razor:
Let's put it this way -- Florida State and Miami have better programs, but the USF football TEAM is on a par, or ahead of, the 'Noles and Canes right now.

(Louisville's) Willie Williams arrested on possession charges. Yes that Willie Williams! At least 3 Louisville players were arrested, one being the infamous Willie Williams. Louisville sold their soul to get this guy on their team, they deserve the ridicule they will receive.
Rammer:
I agree. Louisville hit a homer with another former Miami drop out (Nate Harris) but they look bad on this one.
I feel more for Louisville, though than I do the kid. How stupid do you have to be, after what he's been through, to get caught with pot in your car.
The truly sad thing is that some school will pick up Williams. This kid doesn't need a uniform, he needs counseling.

Hey Dodd, Three things I have grown accustomed to being a life long WVU Fan. 1. Heartache, 2. Pain, 3. Watching us play like total crap in a huge game that always happens to be on national TV.
Here is hoping one day we will actually develop a vertical and over the middle of the field passing game and a pass rush that actually gets to the QB. Maybe the media will wake up one day and quite hyping us and Rodriguez so much.
Bitter Mountaineer:
It's getting to be that time where Rich and the boys are going to have to be more accountable. I'm not ready to go there yet. That Sugar Bowl win over Georgia sure did mean a lot.

O.K., we all know by now that South Florida is a good football team. However, let's not get goofy. Remember last year, Michigan was ranked about 15 and kicked Notre Dame. Sportswriters went bananas, propelled Michigan to 2, and were just sure that Ohio State and Michigan could beat the world-------remember what happened. Let's keep our heads guys.
South Florida is good, but not a top 10 team. West Virginia was very overrated and I think everyone knew that everyone in the South and West anyway. South Florida is probably top 15, but let's not get stupid.
Spinky:
OK, then who are going to put up there? Can't think of too many teams that have won at Auburn and beaten a top five team this season.

Regarding your coverage of the FSU-Alabama game and Xavier Lee's entrance into the game. As a long time Seminole Fan from 1964 as a kid, we are all waiting to see Lee get in and be successful, although we want Drew to be successful also.
I appreciate you NOT saying that Drew Weatherford was benched because he was spotted with momma's chicken on his breath...Seriously, good job.
Nolly:
Hey, I'll be the comedian around here.
Seriously though, it was pizza. Drew likes it when his mama lets the cheese drip into his mouth.

LSU was jumped over USC in the AP poll because the majority of the voters, who admittedly are slow on the uptake, finally realized that two of the most overrated things in life are: 1. Home cooking and 2. West Coast football.
If USC played a SEC schedule, they would have a hard time making the top 10.
Blinded by the South:
Don't go there again. I watched on opening day as a Cal linebacker hit Erik Ainge square in the back. Fumble, touchdown the other way. That set the tone for the whole game.
I saw USC POUND Nebraska with its running game. I saw Oregon walk into the Big House and punk Michigan.
Look, dude, the Pac-10 teams don't play an SEC schedule because they CAN'T play an SEC schedule. That didn't seem to hurt South Florida when it beat Auburn.
From: FW
I think it's ridiculous that USC lost the top spot. Until they lose, they should remain 1. With so many teams being upset, why does USC get punished for going out and doing their job. Did they beat up on Washington? NO. But they won, which is more than many of the top 10 teams can say.
Ef Double-U:
I agree. That little stunt by the AP voters surprised me. That shows me there is some real doubt about the Trojans out there, or maybe people are just bored.
From: David
I am a long-time Tiger fan, and I love LSU being NO. 1. That being said, whoever voted us first should watch the Tulane game. We didn't look first. Thank heavens we put that crap on the field against Tulane. If we were playing a football team, we could have lost.
We will dominate Florida.
Clear Thinking Tiger:
That's the kind of analysis I want to read. Now get Les Miles to try a bigger hat.

On (Jeff) Tedford: You got to understand something Dennis...The Berkeley hills and that quality of life. If you're making a good paycheck it is probably the number one place to live in the U.S. and one of the top places in the world.
It's a dream job because the surrounding area is beautiful and it has both worlds surrounding it. One of the best cities in the world in San Francisco and some of the best natural beauty in the world.
The Bay Area is magical if you have MONEY and Teddy got the paycheck and he's a true Golden Bear! You can think of Saban at Alabama making lots of cash and think of Urban Meyer down in Gainesville. I've been to all these great college towns and they are not in the same league as the Bay area.
It's a whole other level when you're living at the level that these coaches are.
AGF:
That explains why Steve Mariucci stayed all those years and rejected the NFL.

Dennis, Take off your purple-colored glasses! To say the K-State is playing the best football in the Big 12 is ridiculous. They've played four high school teams and a very overrated Texas team. PLEASE don't get a wave started for K-State when they have not even created a ripple yet.
Purple H8R:
Does your mind not stretch back four years ago when Kansas State won the Big 12? Do you not remember that San Jose State won nine games a year ago, or that Auburn has beaten Florida.
The fact is, K-State IS playing the best in the Big 12 right now. Until further notice, the Cats are the favorites.
From: David
Is this the year the new BCS goes into effect? If so, how is going to work?
Dave:
Nothing changes. Same as always. Confusion, anger, hypocrisy and 65 coaches responsible for stuffing millions of dollars in their peers' pockets.
From: carver
Harrell and Crabtree are not in the top eight for the Heisman? Just so you know, that's Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree from Texas Tech. These two just lead the country in every statistical category remotely related to their positions.
Honestly, they should get more consideration. If you are a it's-the-system guy, ask who (Andre) Woodson or (Colt) Brennan is on the list.
Red (Faced) Raider:
Until Thursday night, Woodson was playing for a team that was undefeated in the SEC. Brennan shattered an NCAA record (touchdown passes) last year. They haven't won the Heisman either.
Quit your whining and hold Oklahoma State to fewer than 718 yards.
