Wisconsin will be headed to Florida for the fourth consecutive year, accepting an invitation to play in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day in Tampa.
The Badgers (9-3), who are ranked No. 18 in the BCS Standings, played in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando the past two seasons and the Outback Bowl in 2003.
"We're absolutely thrilled to be returning to Tampa for the Outback Bowl," Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez said. "It has been a tremendous destination for us the previous three times we have been there. Our players and fans have always enjoyed the Tampa area and everything the bowl brings to the table."
Wisconsin will meet a team from the SEC, which will likely be Auburn or the loser of the SEC title game. Full story
Bearcats accept Papajohns.com Bowl bid
Cincinnati, which was passed over by the Sun and Meineke Car Care Bowls, accepted a bid to the play Southern Mississippi in the Papajohns.com Bowl on Dec. 22 in Birmingham.
The Bearcats, who are 9-3 and ranked No. 20 in the AP poll, defeated South Florida and Connecticut, but dropped to the fourth selection out of the Big East.
"The Papajohns.com Bowl is getting an excellent team in the University of Cincinnati," said Big East commissioner Michael Tranghese.
"The Bearcats' success continues to grow under coach Brian Kelly and their fan base has supported the team with sellout crowds at Nippert Stadium. The Big East had an excellent experience in Birmingham last season and we know it will be even better this year."
Cincinnati has won the Fort Worth Bowl and the International Bowl in the last two years.
