Murray State's Ehrhardt has felony charge reduced

MURRAY, Ky. -- A judge reduced a felony charge to a misdemeanor against Murray State quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt, who pushed a campus police officer and took his ticket book.

Ehrhardt pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct Tuesday. He received a 90-day suspended sentence, must pay a $178 fine and perform 20 hours of community service work, according to Tona Steger of the Calloway County Attorney's Office.

Ehrhardt must write a letter of apology to the university's Public Safety Department, she said Wednesday.

Ehrhardt was charged with second-degree robbery April 9. He surrendered to the campus public safety office after a witness identified him. He acknowledged he took the citation book to win a $20 bet.

Murray State spokesman Dave Winder said Wednesday that Ehrhardt remains on the team.
