CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -North Carolina receiver Brandon Tate left the 22nd-ranked Tar Heels' game against Notre Dame in the first quarter Saturday with a sprained right knee.
The Atlantic Coast Conference's leader in all-purpose yardage was hurt while returning a punt late in the quarter.
Doctors examined his right knee on the sideline and he walked to the locker room under his own power.
