Kansas State quarterback Freeman expected to enter NFL Draft

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas State quarterback Josh Freeman was expected to announce that he's skipping his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

A person with knowledge of Freeman's decision told the Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly, on Thursday the school planned to make a formal announcement Friday.

Freeman, a 6-foot-6 junior, broke most of Kansas State's career passing records.

ESPN.com first reported Freeman would enter the NFL Draft.

Freeman was the first blue chip recruit signed by Ron Prince, who was fired with three games left this season. Prince had succeeded Bill Snyder when he retired after the 2005 season. Snyder came out of retirement to replace Prince.

A native of Grandview, Mo., whose touch and arm strength are sure to get plenty of attention from pro scouts, Freeman holds Kansas State career records with 680 completions, 8,078 yards and 44 touchdowns. He threw for 2,945 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2008 and also ran for 404 yards and 14 scores.
