Idaho LB Robinson reprimanded for in-game punch
BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho linebacker Tre'Shawn Robinson has been reprimanded by Western Athletic Conference commissioner Karl Benson for throwing a punch in the Vandals' 29-25 victory over San Jose State last weekend.
Robinson was ejected from Saturday's game for unnecessary roughness after the Spartans scored a touchdown in the first half.
Benson said Robinson's actions violate the WAC's sportsmanship code and will not be tolerated. Benson said any future problems could result in a one-game suspension.
Players throwing punches during or after games has become an issue in the wake of Oregon's LeGarrette Blount landing a blow to the chin of Boise State player Byron Hout last month. Blount was ultimately suspended for the season for throwing the punch at the end of the game.
