WVU's Stuart arrested in stolen property case

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia football player Courtney Stuart has been arrested on charges related to a stolen property case in Arizona.

Court records show Stuart was arrested Monday in West Virginia and is being held in jail there.

Stuart's attorney, Corwin Townsend of Phoenix, said Stuart was indicted last month in Arizona on charges of burglary and trafficking in stolen property. Townsend said the arrest and indictment were a surprise.

He says Stuart is accused of taking CDs and a laptop at a party three years ago in the Phoenix area, where the junior is from.

Stuart has waived extradition to fight the charges.

A spokesman says West Virginia coach Bill Stewart is still gathering the facts. Stuart primarily plays on special teams and hasn't seen action in the team's last four games.

I'm confused here.... How does it take 3 years to figure whether he stole some CD's and a laptop?? I'm not saying he didn't do it but 3 years is just a long time for them to come and arrest him in WV.... Are things that slow in Arizona that this came up on their Cold Case list??
