AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds says the school is happy with its decision to stay in the Big 12 Conference.
University officials are discussing their decision to remain in the league, despite the defections of Nebraska to the Big Ten (2011) and Colorado (2012) to the Pac-10. Texas and other schools in the Big 12 South were courted by the Pac-10, but Texas led the group Monday in saying no.
The Big 12 now has 10 members. Dodds said Tuesday that it remains strong -- and each season will have a shot at two BCS games even without a football championship game.
