FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino says wide receiver Carlton Salters has left the team and intends to pursue a baseball career.

Petrino announced the move Monday.

Salters appeared in 27 games for the Razorbacks and had 13 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown. Last year, he played in eight games and had three catches on the season for 81 yards and a touchdown. Salters averaged 27 yards per catch.

In spring 2007, he was an outfielder during his redshirt season for the Razorback baseball team.
