LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is apologizing for his sideline tirades during a loss at Texas A&M. He also quashed rumors that Taylor Martinez had quit the team in the wake of an animated exchange he had with the quarterback that was seen on national TV.
Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman on Sunday publicly admonished Pelini for his conduct. Pelini said he spoke with Perlman on Monday morning and promised to keep his temper under control.
The Cornhuskers were penalized 16 times in the 9-6 loss on Saturday.
Pelini said he believes it's OK to let an official know he disagrees with a call, but it's wrong to "make it personal." Pelini said he "let it get personal."
Pelini said Martinez would play Friday against Colorado if he's healthy.
