Georgia nose tackle John Jenkins had earlier requested a draft evaluation from NFL scouts, but said he did not wait to receive it before deciding to return for another season of college ball.
"I belong at Georgia another year," Jenkins told reporters while preparing for the Outback Bowl in Tampa. "I believe at the end of next year I'd have no choice but to be ready."
Jenkins said he requested the evaluation because "I just wanted to go through the process. You never know until you do it where you stand."
While Jenkins didn't get to officially find out just where he stood, he said he did not get the idea he would go in the first round.
The junior had 28 tackles this season, with three sacks and six tackles for losses.
