PITTSBURGH -- University of Pittsburgh coach Paul Chryst has suspended two players and announced the transfer of a backup quarterback.

Chryst suspended junior offensive lineman Juantez Hollins for the 2012 season due to a "violation of team policy." Hollins played in 13 games last year and started in seven. Hollins will remain a member of the team.

In addition, incoming freshman receiver Chris Davis was suspended for the first week of preseason training camp for undisclosed disciplinary reasons. The Panthers open camp on Aug. 6 and Davis will be allowed to join the team Aug. 12.

Chryst also announced that sophomore quarterback Mark Myers has left the program. The Cleveland native played in four games last year, completing 1 of 4 passes for five yards.
