Miami suspends linebacker Terry after drug arrest

CBSSports.com wire reports

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami linebacker Gabe Terry was suspended indefinitely by the Hurricanes on Friday, after he was arrested and charged with possessing slightly less than one ounce of marijuana.

Miami-Dade County officials said Terry was being held on $5,000 bond on the possession charge, as well as on $1,000 bond for a charge of resisting arrest without violence. In Florida, possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana can be classified as a felon. Terry was allegedly found with 26.8 grams.

Terry appeared in seven games for the Hurricanes last year, both as a linebacker and a special-teams player. He made five tackles and blocked a punt.

Terry was expected to make a court appearance Saturday.
