COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State defensive lineman
Tim Schafer was charged with disorderly conduct for fighting with a man
outside a bar.
Schafer is the third Buckeye to face criminal charges in less than two
weeks.
Police reports said Schafer, who started five games as an offensive
lineman last season, was fighting with another man early Saturday
morning. Police said both men were bloody, had bite marks and smelled of
alcohol.
Schafer played in 11 of 12 games last year at right tackle. He switched
to defense this spring.
A statement on Schafer's status with the team will be issued later in
the week, an athletic department spokesman said.
Ohio State kicker Jonathan Skeete was charged May 11 with marijuana
trafficking, and running back Erik Haw was charged with marijuana
possession.
