DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa State has suspended
redshirt freshman defensive lineman Stephon Dale for violating the
school's student-athlete code of conduct.
The school said in a statement Monday that it would not release any
details regarding Dale's suspension because the Family Educational
Rights and Privacy Act protects the release of additional information
regarding disciplinary actions involving an Iowa State student.
School officials would not say how long Dale would be suspended. He was
expected to compete with Kurtis Taylor, Travis Ferguson and Nick Frere
for a starting spot on the Cyclones' defensive line.
