Posluszny adds another Bednarik Trophy to his collection
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny won the Bednarik Trophy for the second consecutive year Thursday night.
Posluszny is the second two-timer winner of the award and first since Northwestern linebacker Pat Fitzgerald won the first two in 1995-96.
The other finalists were Posluszny's teammate and fellow linebacker Dan Connor and Michigan defensive LaMarr Woodley for this year's award.
Posluszny returned for his senior year after injuring his knee in the Orange Bowl against Florida State last season. He got off to slow start this season, adjusting to wearing a knee brace and playing a new position, inside linebacker instead of outside.
Posluszny leads Penn State with 108 tackles and has three sacks for one of the top defenses in the country.
