Crimson Tide report: Strategy and personnel
THIS WEEK'S GAME: Alabama at LSU, Nov. 13 -- Home teams usually have a major advantage in the SEC, but not in this series, in which the visiting team has won six of the past eight meetings. In games played in Baton Rouge, Alabama leads the series 23-6-2. For Alabama to make that happen again the Crimson Tide will have to win the turnover and field positions battles and do a better job of making plays in the passing game.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
RB Kenneth Darby -- He's only started the past three games but he's still in the SEC in both rushing yards (933) and average yards per game (104) after rushing for a career-high 200 yards on 36 carries against Mississippi State and earning SEC offensive player of the week honors.
K Brian Bostick -- Bostick is the SEC special teams player of the week after making all three field goals and all of his extra points against Mississippi State. His 47-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter gave the Crimson Tide a 23-14 lead. It was just the latest chapter in a steady season for a kicker who has made 13 of 16 field goals and all 31 PAT attempts this season.
FS Roman Harper -- Harper has emerged as a solid playmaker, ranking second on the team with 54 tackles (37 solos) this season to go with six tackles for losses, two interceptions, a fumble recovery, a force fumble, four pass breakups and a sack.
ROSTER REPORT
The physical nature of the Mississippi State game took its toll on several Alabama players. While RB Kenneth Darby (ankle) and OT Wesley Britt (foot) should be ready to go, DT Anthony Bryant (ankle), TE David Cavan (back), C JB Closner (right shoulder), TE Clint Johnston (concussion), SS Charlie Peprah (hamstring) and LB Marcel Stamps (ankle) are all considered questionable.
