Tigers report: Notes, quotes

Notes, quotes · Inside slant · Strategy and personnel

GAME BALL GOES TO
QB JaMarcus Russell -- The Tigers were floundering on offense until Russell came off the bench and gave them a spark in the second half. He completed only nine of 26 passes for 145 yards, but he also threw a 38-yard touchdown pass and ran for the two-point conversion to tie the game with 1:05 left in regulation.

KEEP AN EYE ON
QB Marcus Randall -- He's waited a long time to be the starter and struggled in the first half against Oregon State, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the challenge he faces. His first pass was intercepted, leading to LSU's quick deficit, and he completed only 7 of 18 passes for 66 yards. Yet, he did produce in overtime when given another chance due to Russell's leg cramps.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I feel like our players earned the win. And we're certainly not going to give it back." -- LSU coach Nick Saban.
