Tigers report: Strategy and personnel
THIS WEEK'S GAME: Troy State at LSU, Oct. 23 -- Troy hasn't been the same since opening the season with wins against Marshall and Missouri, but the Trojans remain dangerous for opponents who choose to take them lightly. Don't bet on that against LSU. The Tigers seemed to find themselves against Florida and had an open date to correct mistakes and prepare for the rest of the season.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
QBs Marcus Randall and JaMarcus Russell -- Russell started his first game last week at Florida and three two quick interceptions before suffering an ankle injury that opened the door for Randall to come in and lead the Tigers to a last-minute victory. Randall earned the SEC offensive player of the week award after connecting on 18 of 27 passes for 198 yards and two TDs, including the game-winner with 27 seconds left in the game.
MLB Lionel Turner -- The senior leader of LSU's front seven ranks sixth in the SEC with 45 tackles to go with two sacks.
ROSTER REPORT
Last week's open date gave WR Skyler Green (ankle), DE Marcus Spears (pulled muscle), CB Travis Daniels (hamstring), FS LaRon Landry (hip flexor) and CB Corey Webster (knee) a chance to rest and heal. Green told the Baton Rouge Advocate his ankle is "90 to 95 percent" well after bothering him since August. ... Senior reserve LB Dorsett Buckels, however, suffered a torn ACL on the opening kickoff at Florida and he will miss the rest of the season. ... Saban said junior LB E.J. Kuale is expected to play against Troy. He was suspended for the Florida game after his involvement in an off-campus fight.
