Tigers report: Notes, quotes

Notes, quotes · Inside slant · Strategy and personnel

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE
QB Marcus Randall threw three interceptions last week against Troy, and LSU has now lost 19 turnovers this season. Between the turnovers and a running game that gained only 32 yards against Troy, the Tigers aren't nearly as productive or dangerous as they were last year.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE
The defense certainly isn't playing poorly, allowing only 17.1 points, 102 rushing yards and 251 total yards per game, but the Tigers also haven't made many big plays to change the momentum of a game. The Tigers are tied for 10th in the conference with only 12 takeaways in seven games.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"Anything short of winning a national championship and everybody's disappointed, because last year's accomplishments are this year's expectations." -- LSU coach Nick Saban.
