--RB Courtney Tennial is back for another shot at his senior season after receiving a sixth year of eligibility. In 2006, Tennial scored 16 touchdowns, led the team with 845 rushing yards and finished third with 31 receptions for 362 yards. He missed the 2007 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in the preseason.

--Senior WR Brennan Marion was the C-USA Newcomer of the Year in 2007 after breaking a 30-year NCAA record for highest average gain per catch in 2007. He averaged 31.9 yards per catch last year.

SPRING MOVERS

QBs Clark Harrell and Jacob Bower -- Senior David Johnson still leads the quarterback race because of his consistency but Harrell and Bower pushed him throughout the spring and will get a chance to do so again in August.

LB Curnelius Arnick -- The Golden Hurricane entered the spring looking for linebackers and Arnick, a redshirt freshman, used his speed and athleticism to make a run at a starting spot.

DE Odrick Ray -- Ray played a limited role as a true freshman in 2007 but played well in the spring and put himself in a position to compete for a starting job in August.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"We need to build a statue of him and quit talking about him. It's killing us." -- Tulsa coach Todd Graham, on trying to replace record-setting quarterback Paul Smith.

Kragthorpe came to U of L highly touted after turning a dormant Tulsa program into a winner in four seasons.

Maybe chapter 2 is coming?

I guess you are getting paid back for running up the score last year, everytime you had the opponent down.

Alright guys....of course we have our history togethor (UCF and Tulsa) but we are going to need you guys to win both this weeks game and next weeks game. CUSA looks extremely interesting at the end of every season. Its always exciting to be a fan of these programs towards November....

Tulsa,

i must admit that i was shocked when UTEP won the game this past week against you guys.  What stinks for CUSA west is that UTEP has now played the hardest teams in CUSA west, and now they control their own destiny.  It almost seems weird to think that Houston could end the season Ranked, yet they wouln't even make it to the CUSA championship game unless UTEP looses a

(POLL) G.J. Kinne is beginning to look like a real deep ball threat. In one half against Sam Houston, he passed for 264 yards and 4 tds on just 15 throws! Yes, it is a div-2 opponent, but those numbers are every bit as impressive as Sam Bradfords in 1 half against Chatanooga last year...

He leads the team in rushing (and has in 3 games so far) with 160 yards. If you took out the red

1) Houston (3-1, 0-1)

No one in C-USA has two higher quality wins. A loss at UTEP has narrowed the (perceived) gap between Houston and everyone else in C-USA.

Starting out 0-1 in C-USA is not the statement the previously 12th-ranked Houston Cougars wanted to make.

The UTEP game was the first of five for Houston in ...(more)

The Oklahoman had an incorrect list of the top-8 scoring teams from the last 3 years. Their list seemed a bit off with Houston as #2 and Tulsa nowhere to be found.... I knew Tulsa should have been up near the top so I did the math (after being the #1-#2 scoring team the last couple years). Here is a corrected list I made:

School... Average PPG
1) Oklahom ...(more)

Wow. I didn't think that would as lopsided as it was. How do you think you'll fair against Boise State in a couple weeks? Keep it close, or do you think you'll blow them out because it's a home game for Tulsa?

You guys are 2-0. If you beat Oklahoma next week that's huge. BYU did it, but just barely. You guys' offense is just as capable, but how is your defense? I want Tulsa to win, but I think it will turn into a shootout and Oklahoma will end up winning by ten or so, because their defense will stop you guys a couple more times. Go out there fighting!
