Troy Trojans

Trojans report: Strategy and personnel

Strategy and personnel · Notes, quotes · Inside slant

LOOKING GOOD
Troy's defense continues to impress and it certainly played good enough to win last week in holding ASU to 13 points. The running game continues to be effective, and it's even more impressive considering the Trojans can't throw the ball.

STILL NEEDS SOME WORK
Three turnovers killed the Trojans last week, and the passing game is awful. Quarterback Aaron Leak has been too inconsistent, and he must make better decisions and be more accurate if the Trojans are to finish out the season strong.

ROSTER REPORT
The Trojans got unexpected great news when quarterback D.T. McDowell decided to give up baseball and sign with Troy this summer. After starter Aaron Leak struggled last week, McDowell could see more playing time in the near future. ... True freshman defensive back Leodis McKelvin is playing some in the secondary and returning punts and kickoffs.
