Notes, quotes · Inside slant · Strategy and personnel

GAME BALL GOES TO
RB Dwight Tardy -- The redshirt freshman has proved a more-than-able stand-in for the injured Demaundray Woolridge. Tardy had his best game Saturday with 145 yards, including 114 in the fourth quarter.

KEEP AN EYE ON
TE Jed Collins -- A converted fullback, he's getting a chance to play due to injuries to other players and had three catches for 57 yards and a touchdown and also had three carries, one resulting in a 1-yard touchdown as the Cougars searched for ways to improve their short-yardage offense.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"To stick it to them like this feels good." -- WSU QB Alex Brink on beating Oregon, a school that didn't recruit him even though he grew up in Eugene, Ore.
