LOOKING GOOD
QB Alex Brink -- He had a fumble and an interception, but also completed 20-of-23 passes for 187 yards.

S Eric Frampton -- He finished with 16 tackles in playing a key role in limiting Oregon's running game.

DE Lance Broadus -- With opponents ganging up on teammate Mkristo Bruce, the nation's leader in sacks, he's picking up some of the slack and had a sack and two quarterback hurries.

WR Michael Bumpus -- He's becoming one of the best possession receivers around and turned in eight catches for 74 yards against the Ducks.

STILL NEEDS WORK
PK Loren Langley -- The inconsistent junior had an extra point blocked and also missed a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

WR Brandon Gibson -- A week after his breakout game against Cal, he was held to one catch for one yard.

RB Demaundray Woolridge -- Still struggling to overcome a thigh bruise suffered in the first game, he had six yards on three carries.

ROSTER REPORT
The Cougars suffered four potentially significant injuries. WSU played much of the game without DTs Aaron Johnson (elbow) and Ropati Pitoitua (MCL sprain), with reserves Bryan Tarkington and Matt Eichelberger filling in. CB Tyron Brackenridge, who returned an interception for a touchdown, hurt his hamstring, and G Andy Roof injured a heel.

OK, I was one of the people at the beginning of the season that wanted to root for Paul Wulff and give him a chance. After two games this season his chances are over. My reason is not because he can not coach, but he can not prepare his teams at the start of games. I was at the Hawaii game and was disgusted with the lack of preparation and lack of motivation the cougs showed. I can not believe a t ...(more)

I hate the Huskies.

I hate the colors, I hate the fans, I hate the teams.

Most of their fans didn't even go to UW but still have the nerve to criticize my WSU education.

They have 3 wins and are talking trash as if they're about to go to the Rose Bowl.

They've lost 4 of the last 5 Apple Cups and are still arrogant enough to predict a 50 point blowout

It seems like no one cares about the football team on here anymore. No one is writing or starting threads and the last thread we had on here was started by a duck a week ago. I know that game was a HUGE step back but the whole part about being a coug fan is sticking with it through it all... Its easy to be a Florida fan or a USC fan, but it takes heart to be a true coug fan. So lets go and encoura ...(more)

Hey Cougs,
Been quiet on the board this season, for obvious reasons.

This weekend I'm looking forward to though.  UCLA is clearly down at the bottom of the conference along with us this year which makes this our most winnable Pac-10 game so far.  UCLA never plays well against us, they especially never play well in Pullman (and the weather's supposed to have a high in the

If the season ended right now, Jeff Tuel would have the 5th highest season completion percentage in school history (He already has a qualifying amount of attempts).

COMPLETION PERCENTAGE (Min. 100)
1. .645 Timm Rosenbach, 1988 (218/338)
2. .609 Alex Brink, 2006 (241/396)
3. .608 Aaron Garcia, 1989 (115/189)
4. .606 Alex Brink, 2007 (305/503)

Our offensive line should be ashamed of themselves.  That was one of the more pathetic displays of attempting to block that I've ever seen.  I thought that with getting a few O-linemen back for this ND game that we would see a noticable improvement from them but what we really got was piss poor.

I was thinking towards the end of the 3rd Qtr that we should pull Tuel

Compare this year to last year and you will see progress.  It's incremental, but it's there.  We're a young team, Wulff is still playing guys who weren't recruited for his system, and the PAC 10 is not an easy place to rebuild a program.  I think that next year we'll be competitive with the bottom tier of the conference and with the top tier the following year.  ...(more)

You've all seen the Shawshank Redemption, right?  When Red is sitting at the base of that old oak tree after being released on parole, reading Andy's letter?  Andy writes, "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things."  Now that's a great line . . .

We've played some good teams this year, and in some of those games, we have not only not embarrassed ourselve

What up my Wazzu brothers?

Football life in Pullman has been tough as of late. Hard to get a team healthy on a road trip to a pissed off USC.

And, now you get to come enjoy the hospitality of the Oregon Ducks.  Not the best timing for the Cougs as Oregon is starting to find its offense and the defense has actually played well this year.

I am thrilled tha

Is anybody else as excited as I am about the beginning of hopefully a great and long Jeff Tuel era of cougar football... I just read today that Wulff named him the starter against oregon on saturday... It's not like there was a better choice than what was made but it still nerve racking to be that 19 year old starting against a ranked oregon team at autzen... I mean im 19 and i would be incredibly ...(more)

(POLL) We get one lineman back, Tuel is healthy, were at home, and its going to be uncomfortably cold for the desert folk. Is that enough to win?

SMU lost that game more than we won it, in my opinion. We stunk for 3 quarters then the defense woke up in a big way. A few big plays landed in thier lap, credit to the D for taking advantage and going to the house, but what really got me excited is how they played the rest of the game. I was jumping around on my seat with joy watching them get around the blocks, hit and WRAP UP! Where was that pa ...(more)
