Manziel signs deal with Nike

Johnny Manziel has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike, a source told Thursday.

The former Texas A&M star, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, also had discussions with UnderArmour and adidas before agreeing with Nike. Manziel's negotiating team is led by Maverick Carter, LeBron James' business manager, who helped orchestrate the deal.

Manziel, a projected Top 10 draft pick, will enter the NFL with plenty of buzz given his frenetic style -- both on and off the field. In his two seasons starting at A&M, Manziel led the Aggies to 20 wins by amassing 93 rushing and passing touchdowns while completing 69 percent of his passes.

The Nike deal was first reported by ESPN.
