Auburn QB Nick Marshall out for SEC Media Days after pot citation

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall's marijuana citation cost him a trip to SEC Media Days in Birmingham.

The Tigers on Sunday announced tight end C.J. Uzomah would take Marshall's place during the team's media days appearance Monday.

Coach Gus Malzahn is expected to address Marshall's situation then. In a statement Friday night, Malzahn said he was aware of the incident and was "very disappointed."

"I will address it with him accordingly," he said.

Police on Friday reportedly found less than an ounce of marijuana in Marshall's car in Reynolds, Ga. Marshall was pulled over for a possible window tinting violation, according to reports.

Marshall is the league's top returning quarterback and a Heisman Trophy candidate. With Marshall gone, five quarterbacks will appear at the SEC's four-day event covering all 14 teams.
