Valdez was traded to the Angels on Tuesday.

Valdez was designated for assignment earlier in the month, but it didn't take long for the Tigers to find a suitor for the right-hander. The 26-year-old posted a 3.48 ERA in 10.1 innings out of the bullpen with Triple-A Toledo, so although he'll likely begin his tenure in Los Angeles in the minor leagues, he could head up to the big leagues soon if the Angels are in need of bullpen help at the major league level. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, left-hander Chris Jones was designated for assignment.
