Tucker (shoulder) was able to hit on the field Sunday, but he isn't ready to play in Grapefruit League games yet, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

While the hitting session is a positive sign for Tucker, his slow recovery from September shoulder surgery puts his status for Opening Day in some peril. Even if he entered the spring at full health, Tucker would be hard-pressed to win an outfield job, as the offseason additions of Nori Aoki, Josh Reddick and Carlos Beltran have pushed him down the depth chart.
