Manager Bob Melvin said that Gossett would be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday against the Marlins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

He'll assume the rotation spot of Andrew Triggs (hip), who was moved to the 10-day disabled list Saturday. The extent of Triggs' injury isn't known, but with current No. 5 starter Jharel Cotton yet to show an ability to rein in walks and Kendall Graveman (shoulder) having yet to face hitters, Gossett could earn himself a second turn in the rotation if he pitches well in his MLB debut. The 24-year-old right-hander has ridden a four-pitch mix to a 3.41 ERA and 54:19 K:BB over 60.2 innings with Nashville on the season.
