Sogard (knee) will meet with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday for a second opinion on whether or not he'll need surgery, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.

It was reported earlier Tuesday that Sogard would in fact need surgery to remove loose bodies from his knee, but he will wait to make a final decision until he can meet with Dr. Andrews. If surgery is ultimately the direction Sogard and the team decide to go in, the timeline would have the utility infielder out through the All-Star break. More information on Sogard's status moving forward figures to be made available following his meeting with Andrews on Wednesday.
