Athletics trade pitcher Chad Smith to Angels

The Angels acquired pitcher Chad Smith in a trade with the Athletics, the Angels announced.

In exchange for Smith, the Angels sent the A's cash considerations. Smith was then optioned to the Angels' Triple-A team. Smith produced a 33.75 ERA in 1 1/3 innings this season.
