Alford was recalled from Double-A New Hampshire on Friday and will be with the Blue Jays in time for Friday's game with the Orioles, Jason Munz of the Hattiesburg American reports.

Alford was nearly called up for Thursday's contest, but he'll instead wait one extra day to replace outfielder Darrell Ceciliani (shoulder), who injured himself hitting a home run Thursday. Alford, the Blue Jays' No. 3 prospect according to RotoWire, is slashing .325/.411/.455 with three home runs and nine steals in 33 games with New Hampshire. He'll likely vie for time with recent call-up Dwight Smith in center field, although Kevin Pillar (suspension) will be back with the team Saturday, so his playing time could dwindle unless he can supplant Ezequiel Carrera for action in left field.
