Pillar was suspended two games by the Blue Jays after shouting distasteful remarks directed at Braves right-hander Jason Motte in Wednesday's contest, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Pillar issued an apology to Motte and the team released an initial statement that disapproved of his actions. Prior to the suspension, the 28-year-old was batting .305 with 27 runs scored and six stolen bases. If he begins serving the suspension Thursday evening, he'll be eligible to return to action Saturday. Ezequiel Carrera, Darrell Ceciliani and recent callup Dwight Smith seem to be in line for more playing time while Pillar is out.
