The Blue Jays have signed veteran catcher George Kottaras to a minor-league contract, SportsNet reports. Kottars began the year with the White Sox, but he never made an appearance for Chicago. He was hitting .247 with seven home runs with the White Sox's Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte.

Kottars had four at-bats with the Blue Jays at the end of the 2014 season. He will likely provide depth for the Bisons, after Josh Thole landed on the minor-league DL with a finger injury.
