The Braves placed Pierzynski on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained left hamstring.
Pierzynski started Tuesday and played a full nine innings, but he appears to have suffered a hamstring injury somewhere along the way. Pierzynski will be sidelined at least until Sept. 1, and will leave the catching duties to Tyler Flowers and Anthony Recker for the time being.
