Pena will compete for a spot in the Brewers' bullpen this spring, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Pena started five of the six games he appeared in for the Brewers last season, but he is out of options and is on the outside looking in at the starting rotation this spring, so the club will let him pitch as a reliever in an effort to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster. Given Pena's starting experience, he figures to work as a long reliever if he makes the cut.
