Garcia (8-8) limited the Braves to three hits and a walk over eight shutout frames while striking out 11 batters en route to picking up the win in Friday's 1-0 victory.

Garcia was throttled to the tune of a 6.04 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across his preceding five outings, but the matchup with MLB's worst team proved to be the perfect elixir to what ailed him. The strikeout total was his second highest of the season and marked the first time since May 11 against the Angels that he had even exceeded six strikeouts in an outing. As such, Friday's performance can justifiably be viewed as an outlier, though he should make for a safe play in his next scheduled start Aug. 10, when he'll face off against the cellar-dwelling Reds.
