Hefner is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks with shoulder inflammation.
Hefner underwent Tommy John surgery in 2013 and 2014. He was able to return to action in Triple-A Memphis this season. He had a 3.50 ERA through his first eight starts before giving up 12 earned runs over his previous two outings. He hopes to return to action in August.
