Sierra went 2-for-6 with an RBI single, a run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.

Sierra's line was the mixed bag that's common for a young player, as he also struck out on three other occasions. However, the speedy outfielder finally stole his first bag in the big leagues on his third attempt after racking up double-digit thefts in three of five minor-league stops. The 21-year-old is likely to head back to the minors upon the return of Jhonny Peralta (illness) and Stephen Piscotty (hamstring), but the impression he's made will be a lasting one; he's now slashing .367/.406/.367 over 32 plate appearances while also scoring eight runs and flashing impressive defensive skills.
