Cardinals' Matt Adams: Remains out of lineup Monday

Adams is out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Adams finds himself on the bench for the third straight game with the Pirates bringing lefty Jon Niese to the hill. Due to the Cardinals' bevy of options at first base, Adams also occasionally loses out on starts against opposing right-handed pitchers, making him a more useful option in DFS than in season-long formats.
