Wacha (1-0) gave up an earned run on three hits and a walk across six innings in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Reds. He struck out six.

Wacha carried over his considerable spring success into the regular season to the delight of the Cardinals and fantasy owners, getting through his six frames in an efficient 83 pitches. He missed plenty of bats as well, recording 13 swinging strikes. Wacha encouragingly induced eight groundball outs as well and completely avoided the long ball against the likes of Joey Votto and Adam Duvall. The outing was exactly what the Cardinals and Wacha had hoped to see after his resurgent spring, and he'll look to continue his success against the Yankees on Friday night.
